EXO-L is the patented, customised ankle brace that provides unparalleled protection against ankle sprains. Where a standard ankle brace works based on the limitation of your ankle movement, EXO-L works like a car safety belt: it only springs into action when your ankle is about to twist.

How EXO-L works
The EXO-L Ankle Brace has 3 key components (see picture):
1. The CORD
The cord serves as an external ligament, supporting your own ankle-foot ligaments. It connects the other two parts: the patch and the shell.
2. The PATCH
At one end, the cord gets its support from the patch attached to your shoe. So it uses the strength of your shoe to help keep your ankle joint in place. Most standard braces ‘fight’ with your shoe. They take up space inside your shoe causing wear and tear. The EXO-L patch is situated on the outside of your shoe.
3. The SHELL
At the other end, the cord is attached to the shell. This shell rests on your ankle bones. Because it is 3D scanned and 3D printed, it has a perfect grip on the tibia and the fibula. This is important to prevent rotations or vertical movements of the shell. The shell needs to be very precise, as the skin on your ankle bones is very thin and easily abraded. Standard braces tend to put pressure on sensitive spots on your skin, causing pain and irritation. EXO-L spreads out the pressure evenly over the ankle bones, making it almost 100% painless.

- Get a 3D scan of your ankle and send it to us.
- We take the data of your ankle scan and convert it into a 3D print file. This is a complex process, involving more than 140 parameters.
- Your custom-fit shell is printed.
- The complete EXO-L Ankle brace is sent to you. This should take approx. 3-4 weeks.
- Visit your local shoemaker and have your shoe fitted with the patch.
